Donald J. Trump, et al<\/em>,&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hid.uscourts.gov\/files\/announcement142\/CV17-50%20219%20doc.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">U.S. District Court Judge Derrick Watson granted Hawaii\u2019s request for a temporary restraining order on Executive Order No. 13,780<\/a>, which prohibits individuals from six countries from entering the United States if they lack valid U.S. visas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Watson found that Trump\u2019s order violates the religious establishment clause of the U.S. Constitution, and that the state demonstrated the likelihood that its universities would suffer monetary damages and intangible harm and its economy would suffer loss of revenue due to a decline in tourism as a result of the ban. The ban had been set to go into effect on March 16 at 12:01 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with three other member firms of the Employment Law Alliance, ES&amp;A filed an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.justia.com\/cases\/federal\/district-courts\/hawaii\/hidce\/1:2017cv00050\/132721\/118\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">amicus curiae brief<\/a>&nbsp;in support of the State.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On March 15, 2017, in the matter of&nbsp;State of Hawaii and Ismail Elshikh v.
