The final rule:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Requires employers to submit some of this information electronically to OSHA for posting on a publicly accessible website.<\/li><li>Requires employers to inform employees of their right to report work-related injuries and illness free from retaliation.<\/li><li>Requires that the reporting procedure is reasonable and does not discourage employees from reporting.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The reporting requirement applies to companies with 250 or more employees in all industries, as well as companies with between 20 and 249 employees in industries designated as hazardous.&nbsp;The new rule takes effect January 1, 2017; reporting requirements will be phased in over two years.
